Damana is one of the three sons of king Bhima of Vidarbha and brother of Damayanti.
Damana is also the name of a great sage who visited the court of king Bhima at Vidarbha. Damana was received very kindly and hospitably by the childless king and his royal consort there. So, he bestowed on them a boon that they should have children as he knew it was for children they had long waited. In due course the boon by Damana was fulfilled and they were blessed with children called Damayanti, Dama, Danta and Damana. This prince Damana was gifted with all virtues.
