Madhuvana was the grove of Madhu, the demon who was killed by Lord Vishnu. After his death, Satrughna founded the city and this is now known as Mathura.
Madhuvana or Mathura is the birthplace of Krishna and is a holy shrine. Madhuvana is the place Dhruva performed penance.
