Chandraswa is one of the three sons of Dhundumara, who survived the conflict with the demon Dhundu. Chandraswa's father Dhundumara was earlier known as king Kuvalayaswa. The Daitya Dhundu hid himself beneath a sea of sand which king Kuvalayaswa dug up with the help of his twenty-one thousand sons. During the digging process, flames were disturbing the progress of their work. But Chandraswa along with his brothers continued and only three of them survived after that. Dhundu killed all of them. Afterwards, Chandraswa's father became renowned as Dhundumara.
