The agneyastrams are said to be wielded only by deities and demi-gods. These mysterious weapons are kept in hidden places. During the battles of the Ramayana and Mahabharata, the Agneyastrams were widely used. These fire weapons are regarded as the magic weapons.
The Agneyastram is said to be given by Aura to Samara and with which he conquered the barbarians who had invaded his patrimonial possessions.
