Omens are part and parcel of everyday life. While some people believe in them others do not. But according to Vastu Shastra they do exist and there are both auspicious and inauspicious omens. Indian sages, such as, Varahmihira had opined that the omens reflect the past actions of an individual and give an intimation about his or her present life. Vastu Shastra discusses a number of auspicious and inauspicious omens that are related to animals, stars or daily actions.
Omens Related to Domestic Animals: Very few people know that there are several omens that are related to domestic animals, such as, cow and donkey. These omens can either be auspicious and inauspicious.
Omens Related to Dog: When a dog cries it is generally believed that something inauspicious is about to happen. But these animals can also suggest good luck. Vastu Shastra explains all the omens in details that are related to a dog.
Omens Related to Cat: According to Vastu Shastra the pet cats are not related with omens. However the stray cats have a long list of both good and bad omens associated with them.
Besides these there are Omens Related to Horse, Omens Related to Crow, Omens Related to Birds (Owl and Parrot), Omens Related to Serpent, Omens Related to Sneeze and Other Omens.
Auspicious Constellations for Travel: Stars are also responsible for suggesting good luck or bad omens. In Vastu Shastra they are primarily associated with traveling. Constellations can, thus, suggest a number of premonition.
