![]() There are different types of dining tables. Some dining tables are rectangular or square, some are round or oval with four corners cut off. It is generally found that the round or oval tables are not quite advantageous. Using such tables can lead to debates and end in quarrels. In order to maintain peace it is necessary that the round or oval tables are completely avoided. Instead, it is advisable to have a square or rectangular table. The refrigerator in a kitchen must be in the West or the North-West. It should not be kept in the North East or the South-West corner of the kitchen. In these corners, it will either often stops working or go out of order. Even if its kept in these directions care must be taken that it is kept 2 to 3 feet away from these corners. The shelf or rack of utensils should be in the South and West along the walls. If there is a Pooja Ghar in the kitchen it should be either in the West, East or North - East corner. It should neither be in the North, South nor in the South-West corner. Water pots required for drinking or cooking should be placed in the North-East corner. Separate platforms for such water pots need not be constructed. If it is not possible to have the kitchen exactly according to Vastu Shastra then one must try to keep the gas in the East - South-East corner for at least 3 months. If it is found advantageous, then the permanent cooking platform in can be erected in the same place. It is allowed to use any room except the one in the North - East as the kitchen. Only the cooking platform should be in the East or West. If it is not possible to avoid the kitchen in the North - East room then only the gas must be kept in the East -South-East. The sink can occupy the Eastern side. But it is necessary to keep the North -East corner free. According to Vastu Shastra this corner can be used for placing Earthen pots of drinking water. |
