Places like Ghosrawan are helpful in sorting out the places where Buddha had visited to either preach or for spiritual attainment. Ghosrawan is one such place in Bihar, India where an important Buddhist monastery is located. Hence till date it remains an important Buddhist pilgrimage center. This is presumably the same monastery that has been mentioned in the Accounts of Hiuen Tsang. He referred to this monastery as the Kapotaka Vihara.
The most important attraction at Ghosrawan is the Buddha statue that dons a height a 10 feet. This huge statue has been placed beside the lake. This remarkable statue carved out of gleaming black stone. Another Buddhist center is located near Ghosrawan. In this village too visitors will come across a Buddhist temple and a fabulous collection of carved Buddha idols and Bodhisattvas are to be found in this particular village.
To reach Ghosrawan the travelers need to travel from Rajgir through Nawada and Hisua.
