2016 ICC World Cup Twenty202016 ICC World Cup Twenty20 is a Twenty20 format International cricket tournament is currently hosting in India from 8th March to 3rd April 2016. 2016 ICC World Cup Twenty20 is the sixth edition of the Twenty20 World Cup Cricket Tournament, and the first to be hosted by India.

2016 ICC World Cup Twenty20 hosts in different parts of India like Bengaluru, Dharamsala, Kolkata, Mohali, Mumbai, Nagpur, and New Delhi. The final will be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, West Bengal.

India, Australia, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Scotland, Netherlands, Ireland, Hong Kong, Afghanistan and Oman are participating in 2016 ICC World Cup Twenty20.

Format of 2016 ICC World Cup Twenty20
2016 World Twenty20 will feature sixteen teams like the previous sessions. Ten teams qualified automatically through their status as full members of the International Cricket Council, while another six qualified through the 2015 World Twenty20 Qualifier. For the second time, the tournament will feature 16 teams. All ten full members qualified automatically, joined by the six associate members that qualified through the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, played in Ireland and Scotland between 6 and 26 July 2015. Oman made its debut in the tournament.

Ranking in 2016 ICC World Cup Twenty20
The top eight Full Member nations in the ICC T20 Championship rankings as of 30th April 2014 automatically progressed to the Super 10 stage, with the remaining eight teams competed in the group stage. From the group stage, Bangladesh and associate nation Afghanistan advanced to the Super 10 stage. Test playing nation Zimbabwe and Ireland failed to advance to the Super 10 stage for the second time.

The Indian Cricket Board announced the name of the cities which will be hosting the matches. Bangalore, Chennai, Dharamsala, Mohali, Mumbai, Nagpur and New Delhi will be the venues along with Kolkata, which will also host the final of the event. VCA Stadium, Nagpur hosted all Group B games and HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala hosted all Group A matches. 2016 ICC World Cup Twenty20 will be host in M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Wankhede Stadium, HPCA Stadium, Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, PCA IS Bindra Stadium, VCA Stadium. The final match of 2016 ICC World Cup Twenty20 will be at Eden Gardens Satdium, Kolkata, West Bengal.
