![]() Synopsis of Dil Se Amarkant aka 'Amar' Varma played by Shahrukh Khan, is an All-India Radio journalist. He lives in Delhi. He goes to the troubled region of North-east to report on different happenings related to 50th Anniversary of Indian independence. He meets Meghna played by Manisha Koirala at a railway station. It was love at first site at least they attract each other. They chat for a while but when he goes to take a cup of tea Meghna's train departs. She boards in the train and leaves Amar behind. Some weeks later he again sees her in the street and calls her loudly. But she starts pretending that she could not recognize him. By that time Amar seriously falls in love with her because of her mysteriousness and ravishing beauty. He tries to convince her about his love. Meghan is in her trip to Ladakh. Amar follows her there. He tells her that he is going to report on the local festivals celebrated there. But Meghna escapes from there too. One incident makes Amar shattered and that was fighting with two strong people who are known as Meghna's brother. They also warn him not to get in touch with Meghna. Amar takes a bus and incidentally finf Meghna sitting there. He tells the story humorously to her. Meghna sympathises with his plight and opens up a little before the bus breaks down. The passengers need to walk a two-day journey with a order to reach their destination. ![]() Cast and Crew of Dil Se The star cast of the film 'Dil Se' includes Shahrukh Khan, Manisha Koirala, Sabyasachi Chakraborty and Preity Zinta. The film is directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Mani Ratnam, Ram Gopal Verma and also Shekhar Kapur. The screenplay is written by Mani Ratnam, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Sujatha. The music is given by A. R. Rahman. Awards for Dil Se The film has won many awards since its release. It includes Netpac award as special mention for Mani Ratnam in 1999 Berlin International Film Festival. Cinematographer Santosh Sivan and Audiographer H. Sridhar won National film awards in the year 1999. The Bollywood movie 'Dil Se' also got many filmfare awards including Preity Zinta as best debut, Gulzar as best lyricist, Sukhwinder Singh as best male playback, A. R. Rahman as best music director, Farah Khan as best choreography, and Santosh Sivan as best cinematographer. |
