Ganashakti is a print agent of the Communist Party of India West Bengal State Committee. It was launched in 1967 in Bengali and initially it appeared every fortnight. From December 1969 onwards it appeared, as an evening daily and it finally became a daily newspaper. The newspaper now also has online and English weekly editions.
The headquarters of the Ganashakti is in Kolkata.
Other than being a newspaper of the party, it covers various sections like travel, literature, science and technology. It is displayed on roadside wood boards in Kolkata and in the suburbs so that those who cannot afford the paper can also read it.
