Koderma is a hub, which produces huge quantity of mica. It produces 60 to 65 % of total mica producing of the world. It lies at a distance of about 60 kms from the city of Hazaribagh.
Hazaribagh National Park also is one of the important places of Hazaribagh town. It is in the lap of Mother Nature encircled with mounds, deep valleys, dense tropical forests and lush hay fields. It thus offers a beautiful view to the tourists. It also houses numerous wild animals like sambhar, bears, nilgai, chital and kakar, tigers, sloth bears and leopards.
Wonderful dams also are regarded as the important places of Hazaribagh town.
Tilaiya Dam is placed across Barakar River surrounded with attractive mounds here and there. Another dam, namely, Konar Dam also stretches to a distance of near about 51 kilometers from Hazaribagh.
Surak Kund is a hot water spring, which lies almost 72 km from Hazaribagh. Tourists too throng there in huge numbers. Its boiling hot water is perfect for curing skin diseases and rheumatism. Lying half way between places like Barhi and Bagodar on the famous Grand Trunk Road. It is almost 2 kms from 'Belkappi, near Barakattha'.
There are few other important places of Hazaribagh town as well. Ramgarh , another cantonment town lies about 50 km from Hazaribagh. Hazaribagh Lake is one such place. People find it ideal for picnicking and hanging out. Also Kanhari Hill lies in the vicinity. Atop this hill one finds a tower, which helps any one to get a mesmerizing view of the places below and closer by areas.
