Sonam Kapoor, Bollywood ActressThe exquisitely beautiful and extremely talented newcomer Sonam Kapoor is all set to establish a strong footage in the Bollywood Film Industry with her great acting potential. This very talented actress was born on 9th June 1985 in the Chembur, which is situated in the Indian state of Maharashtra. She also has the nickname `Giraffe` which has been given to her by her father. She is the daughter of the renowned Bollywood film actor Anil Kapoor and her ex-model wife Sunita Kapoor. His paternal uncles are also the most established names of the Bollywood Film Industry. His elder uncle Boney Kapoor is a renowned film director and her younger uncle Sanjay Kapoor is a very popular Hindi film actor. Another uncle of hers is Sandeep Marwah, the famous studio owner in the heart of the tinsel town. She is also the eldest of the three children of the Bollywood star, the other two being Rhea and Harshavardhana.

Sonam Kapoor`s Early Life
Sonam completed her schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir located in Juhu. Then she went ahead to enrol herself in the United World College of East Asia and from there she qualified with good marks in the subject of Theatre Arts and Chinese History. Soon after she graduated from the Bombay University with her major in dual subjects namely Economics and Political Science. She is not only fluent in English but also in Punjabi, Hindi, Marathi and. She has also mastered the classical dance form Kathak as well as the Latin dance forms which she has been pursuing since 12 years. As she was exposed to the film industry from her early days she had always shared a tremendous fascination for the art of acting.

Sonam Kapoor`s Film Career
On coming back to the country she started as an assistant to the renowned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and assisted him throughout the making of the award-winning movie `Black`. The genius in her was spotted by the filmmaker and she found herself as a part of Bhansali`s project `Saawariya` in 2007 as her debut film opposite the newcomer Ranbir Kapoor and the Bollywood superstar Salaman Khan. In 2009 she featured in Rakesh Omprakash Mehra`s Delhi 6 opposite Abhishek Bachchan. She worked with newcomer Imran Khan in Punit Malhotra`s I Hate Love Storys and in the romantic comedy Aisha with Abhay Deol. In 2008 Sonam won the Stardust Superstar of Tomorrow, Female for Saawariya.

Sonam is one of the finest new comers and the nation is yet to see the great acting potential that this young actress has within her.
