Vani Madhav has been today esteemed as one of the very few Odissi dancers of India. To her credit she became the centre of attention of the media and dance critics. After graduating in arts from the Berhampur University, Orissa, Vani Madhav did a Bachelor's degree in Law and a diploma in Travel Management. After recognizing her skills in the domain of Odissi dance, she decided to be a full-time professional Odissi dancer. Through her dance she always maintains the purity of style of the art form.
From Akhila Bharatiya Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya MandaI, Bombay she has also won a degree in "Nrutya Visharad" in Odissi. With distinction, she has also obtained her post-graduation in Odissi. For this outstanding result she has been conferred the "Sangeet Bhaskar" award by Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. In the year 1989, the East Zone Inter University Youth Festival was held at Shantiniketan where Vani Madhav participated and fetched the silver medal. She won the coveted Gold Medal in the National Youth Festival that took place at Madurai in the year 1990. She has also won several other prizes at district and State level dance competitions. As the senior disciple of Guru Gejendra Panda, she has performed in lead roles in the dance dramas in Odissi style. All of these dance dramas were directed and choreographed by her guru Guru Gejendra Panda.
Throughout her dancing professional career she has performed at various highly esteemed festivals. They are: Chitra Durga Festival: Organized by Ananya Foundation,Chitradurga, Karnatakal; Hampi Utsava 2006: Organized by Dept of Kannada & Culture, Karnataka at Hampi; Bhartham Mansoon Festival: organized by Bharatham, Trissur, Kerala during June 2006; Raj Bhavan,Chennai. Performed during November, 2003; Kadamba Utsava: Organized by Dept of Kannada &Culture, during Jan 2006; Festival performances: Performed at various dance festivals held at Udaipur, Rajasthan, Ooty, Kolkatta,Varanasi,Raipur and at Shantiniketan, gauhati; Featured in the Natyanjali2005 dance festival at Chidambaram and Kumbhakonam.
Vani Madhav has also executed some applauded performances. to mention a few, she performed at Indian Telugu Academy for Shankranti, Jan 2007, in Chennai; Performed for World Dance Day at Alliance Franchise: 2006; Medikery for cultural programs: 2006; Performed for BTM cultural Academy ,Bangalore for their fourteenth anniversary; Performed for Kerala Engineers association at Jnana Jyothi Auditorium-2006; Performed at National Seminar on "Best Practices in Library and Information Services"organized by Dept.of Kannada and Culture:2006; Performed at Mantapa Gruha for their cultural evenings: 2005; Performances at festivals of dance held at Cuttack, Bhubaneshwar, Rayagadha, Barhampur, Chatrapur, Chennai, Shimoga (Karnataka), At the Bangalore Branch of Sri Edneer Math, Koramangala, Bangalore; Keshava Samskrithi Sabha, ISRO Lay out, Bangalore. "Mantap Gruha", Seshadripuram, Bangalore; Rasa Sanje: Performed in 36th festival of Venkatesha Natya Mandira's; Damaru Mahotsava: Performed in damaru mahotsava organised by Ponnambalam Academy of Music & Dance on the occasion of Mahashivaratri; Doordarshan Bhubaneshwar; Lalithakala parishad, Bangalore.
Other than all these, Vani Madhav has also conducted lecture Demonstration in Odissi dance at Kendriya Vidyalaya , Chennai. She has taught this traditional art form at Kala Vikash Kendra ,chatrapur(dist,ganjam, orissa)----from the year1987 to 1989 and again from 1993 to1994; De Paul School , Berhampur (orissa) during the period of 1991 to 1993; Jayashree Chemicals Public School, Dist Ganjam, Orissa for their annual day Summer camp held at Chennai during 2003.
