Morshi is a city situated in the Amaravati district of the western state of India, Maharashtra. It is in the northeast of Amaravati, the district headquarters at a distance of about 65 km. The nearest railway station is the Multai Railway Station and the nearest airport is the Sonegaon Airport.
The 2001 Indian Census report reveals detail information about the city in order to give an idea about the population inhabiting the city. According to the report, Morshi had a population of 33,607. Males account for 51% of the population and females comprises of the remaining 49%. In Morshi, 12% of the population is less than six years of age. The average literacy rate of Morshi is 78% which is higher than the national average literacy rate which is 59.5%. The male literacy rate in Morshi is 82% and the female literacy rate is 73%.
