Jugsalai is a city situated in the Purbi Singhbhum District of the Indian state of Jharkhand. The towns of Bhetia, Jamshedpur, Salgajhri and Ghagidih surround Jugsalai. The nearest access points are the Tatanagar Junction Railway Station on the Howrah- Mumbai line and the Ranchi Airport. The town is located between 22.77° North latitude and 86.18° East longitude at a height of 140 metres (459 feet).
As per the Indian census report of 2001, Jugsalai had a population of 46, 061. Out of it, the male population accounts for 52% of the population and females constitutes 48% of the population. In Jugsalai,13% of the population is less than six years of age. The average literacy rate of Jugsalai is 72% which is higher than the national average literacy rate which is 59.5%. To be specific, the male literacy rate is 77% and the female literacy rate is 67%.
