Jiribam is a small city in the Imphal East district of the northeastern state of India, Manipur. It is located on the Manipur Assam border. It is spread over an area of 387 sq. km. Imphal, the state capital is located in the west of Imphal at a distance of 200 km. The nearest railway station is the Jiribam Railway Station.
As per the Indian census report of 2001, Jiribam had a population of 6426. Males constitute 49% of the population and females account for 51% of the population. In Jiribam, 13% of the population is less than six years of age. The average literacy rate of Jiribam is 73%, which is higher than the national average literacy rate, which is 59.5%. Out of it, the male literacy rate is 80% and the female literacy rate is 66%.
