The town of Jafarpur is located in the Barrackpore II CD Block in Barrackpore sub-division in the North 24 Parganas district in the state of West Bengal. The town itself is part of the Kolkata Urban Agglomeration, which is basically a list of urban agglomerations or cities with a population above 100,000 as per the reports of the 2011 census.
