Gogri Jamalpur is located in the Khagaria district of the eastern state of India, Bihar. The main river flowing through the region is the Ganges. Khagaria, the district headquarters town is located in the northwest of Gogri Jamalpur at a distance of 17 km. The nearest airport is at Patna and the nearest railway stations are the Khagaria Railway Station and the Pasraha Railway Station. NH 31 passes thereby.
According to the 2001 India census report, Gogri Jamalpur had a population of 31,093 inhabitants. Males constitute 53% of the population and females constitute 47% of the population. In Gogri Jamalpur, 20% of the population is less than six years of age. The town has an average literacy rate of 48% which is much lower than the nationwide average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 56% and the female literacy rate of 39%.
