General Sir McGregor Macdonald Lockhart was born on 23rd Jun 1893. He was commissioned into the British Army and appointed in the 51 Sikhs Frontier Force in 1914. General Sir McGregor Macdonald Lockhart was sent to Kabul in 1934 to serve as Military Attaché. During the first part of the Second World War General Sir McGregor Macdonald Lockhart served as the DSD of India. Later General Sir McGregor Macdonald Lockhart was appointed to the Southern Army. On 15th Aug 1947 he was promoted to the rank of Commander in Chief of the Indian Army. He served next two years on this post. In 1961 General Sir McGregor Macdonald Lockhart was awarded the Bronze Wolf Award for serving the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
