Gagret is a major commercial center in the Una district of the northern state of India, Himachal Pradesh. The Gaggal Airport is the nearest airport and the nearest railway station is at Hosiarpur. Dharamsala-Hoshiarpur Highway passes through the town. It is located between 31.67° North latitude and 76.07° East longitude at a height of 439 metres(1440 feet) above mean sea level.
According to the 2001 India, census report, Gagret had a small population of 3180 inhabitants. Males constitute 53% of the population and females constitute 475 of the population. In Gagret, 11% of the population is less than six years of age. Gagret has an average literacy rate of 81%, which is higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 83%, and the female literacy rate is 78%.
Hanuman Temple, Mubarakpur, Amb, Bharwain, Chintpurni Devi Temple and Sheetla Devi Temple are some of the major attractions in the vicinity.
