Aradhya is the name of a Brahman class, who are said to originate from the extreme tenets of the Vim Shaivas. They are said to believe in the Vaishnava faith. Basava was originally an Aradhya Brahman. But the sect is spoken of very disapprovingly in the Purana bearing his name.
