The International center for Yoga Education and Research (ICYER) is the center for practicing Yoga and Natya.

International Center Yoga Education ResearchThe International Center for Yoga Education and Research (ICYER) was established in the year 1968. The international headquarter of this Yoga Institute is at Pondicherry and there are sixty-five affiliated centers in twenty-two countries. The institute was founded by the famous Guru and Asthanga Yoga expert Yogamaharishi Dr. Swami Gitananda Giri Guru Maharaj, who is one of the five leading exponents of Ashtanga Yoga in the twentieth century. Swamiji was called as `Father of Scientific Yoga` and attained Samadhi on December 29, 1993 in Pondicherry. ICYER has three branches in Pondicherry. The Residential Center and hostel is situated on the shores of the Bay of Bengal six kilometers north of Pondicherry on the East Coast Highway. The City center of the institute is Yoganjali Natyalayam in Central Pondicherry and its spiritual and religious center, Sri Kambliswamy Madam, is located at Thattanchavady, behind JIPMER hospital.

The International center for Yoga Education and Research publishes books on Yoga and Indian Cultural arts. A monthly international journal is published, `Yoga Life,` that offers a fifty two -lesson Correspondence Course in Yoga. Each year it conducts six-month International Yoga teachers Training Course from October 2nd through March 25th. Since 1968, this internationally recognized Yoga Training Course has been held each year without any discontinuation. ICYER now offers a One-Year International Diploma in Yoga Education also. The institute was renovated in October 2001.

The International center for Yoga Education and Research offers several facilities to the tourists and the visitors which include special ten-lesson package courses in yoga according to the schedule of the tourists. Proper arrangements are made for visitors to attend lectures. Special Demonstration of Yoga Asanas on prior arrangements is also offered. It arranges for Carnatic Vocal Concerts or Lecture Demonstration with explanation in English by prior arrangements either by ICYER or Star Hotel.
