Hamren is a town situated in the Karbi Anglong district of the beautiful state of Assam.

In the vast country of India quite a number of cities and town have grown by leaps and bounds. Amongst them, Hamren deserves to be worth mentioning. In the northeastern state of Assam, Hamren is a town, situated in the Karbi Anglong district and is ruled by a `town area committee`.

In order to know the demography of the city of Hamren, many of the experts have carried on researches for quite a couple of years. The results that they have come up with, is also quite interesting. Especially the Census report of India that has been brought out in the year 2001 also throws some light in this regard. According to it, the total population of the Hamren city has been enumerated. It has been counted to be 8278. Both males , females as well as children are being included in this counting of people of Hamren city. Out of the total population, males comprises of 53 percent and females constitutes of 47 percent . In Hamren, 18 percent of the total population is below the six years of age.

Some light also has been thrown on the literacy situation of the Hamren city as well. Hamren has an average literacy rate which is quite higher than the average of the whole nation, which is counted to be 59.5 percent. Average literacy rate of the Hamren has been measured to be 64 percent. If one goes into the details, one can find that literacy rate of the Males in Hamren city is 71 percent and female literacy rate constitutes of 56 percent.
