University of Jammu is located at Jammu Tawi in Jammu District of the northern most state of India, Jammu and Kashmir. It is accredited as A+ grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

University of Jammu, Jammu & KashmirUniversity of Jammu was established by an Act of State Legislature which divided the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir University into the Universities of Jammu and Kashmir respectively in 1969. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs. It is accredited as A+ grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The Governor of the Jammu and Kashmir State is the Chancellor and the Chief Minister is the Pro-Chancellor of the University.

Location of University of Jammu
The University is currently located on the banks of the Tawi River. The University is located in the City of Temples - Jammu Tawi. The main campus of Jammu University is located at Baha Saheb Ambedkar Road in Jammu.

Facilities of University of Jammu
University of Jammu has two campuses - New Campus at Bahu Wali Rakh, with an area of about 118.70 acres and another small old campus at Canal Road, having an area of 10.5 acres. The new campus is well laid and is well earmarked for different activities. It has housing accommodation for all types of University employees. There is a central library, an auditorium, canteens, post office, a stall for photocopying, and other stationery items. The Dhanvantri Library, the Central Library of the University offers about 5 lakh books, journals, and 250 current periodicals, etc.

In the campus there is a bookshop, a bank and a post office. There are canteens for refreshment at suitable places. For guests there is a well-maintained Guest House within the campus. A sports complex and grounds for different games and activities constitute another important feature of the new campus. There is a botanical and a cactus garden in the campus.
