Laknavaram Lake
Laknavaram Lake is around 80 kilometres from Warangal city of Telangana. This lake is 11 kilometres from Govindaraopet and 8 km from Chalvai and 10 km from Machapur. The tourists coming from Warangal direction has to take the National Highway 202 road towards Mulugu. After crossing, Mulugu, one needs to drive 15 kilometres to reach Machapur. This is a sweet-water lake which spread over 10,000 acres of land, in the midst of green lush hills surrounded by thick forests.
Ramappa Temple
Ramappa Temple is an early medieval temple in Govindraopet. This temple is also known as the Ramalingeswara temple. Ramappa Temple or Ramalingeswara temple is located 77 kilometres from Warangal city, the ancient capital of the Kakatiya dynasty. This temple is located at about 157 km from Hyderabad in the state of Telangana. It lies in a valley at Palampet village of Venkatapur Mandal, in erstwhile Mulug Taluq of Warangal district, a tiny village long past its days of glory in the 13th and 14th centuries. An inscription in Ramappa Temple dates it to the year 1213 and said to have been built by a General Recherla Rudra, during the period of the Kakatiya ruler Ganapati Deva.
Medaram Sammakka Sarakka Jatara
Medaram is a village in Warangal district of Telangana. This is a popular religious congregation or Yatara called "Samakka sarakka jatara" or "Medaram Jatara" that takes place for three days biennially in this village. This is deemed to be second largest congregation in India, only after the Kumbha Melaof Allahabad. Nearly one crore or ten million people are expected to converge on this village for the “Yatra†in the year 2010.
Chalvai
Chalvai is a beautiful village in Govindaraopet Mandal in Warangal District. This village is an eco tourism site in Warangal District. The majority of the people in the village rely on agriculture and domestic animals for their livelihood. The agricultural product includes paddy and rice. Chalvai can be reached in approximately two hours via road National Highway 202 from Warangal. There are the frequent road transportation facilities available from public (TSRTC) and private vehicles at affordable rates.
