Tippera Tribe
Tippera tribes occupy a major position among the tribal communities of Tripura.
Tippera tribes have shared a very good relation with other tribes who live in close proximity. These include Ahom tribes, Naga tribes, Lusai (Mizo) tribes, Meitei tribes, Garo tribes, Khasi tribes, Koch tribes, Hajomg tribes, Rabha tribes, Kachari tribes, Chakma tribes, Abhor tribes, Bodo tribes, Miri tribes. Due to their settlement in quite remote regions of the Tripura state, these Tippers tribes have able to retain the heritage of their exquisite culture and tradition till date.
The Tippera tribal community communicates in a beautiful dialect of the same name. This belongs to the famous Kokborok language of the state of Tripura. However, quite a handful of Tripura tribes are there who can also speak in other languages like Bengali etc. Now a day, for writing purposes, these Tippera tribes also use the script of Kokborok language, known as Koloma. Also Bengali script is also used at times.
