Thirunavukkarasu Kumaran was born on 30th December 1975 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is popularly known as "Kenny" and "Thiru Kumaran". He is an Indian first class cricketer, hailing from South Indian state, Tamil Nadu.
Early Life of Thirunavukkarasu Kumaran
Thirunavukkarasu Kumaran is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. He is currently a member of Indian World Team in the Indian Cricket League Twenty-20 competition. Thirunavukkarasu Kumaran was trained in MRF Pace Foundation under the personal training from Dennis Lillee. He also had some training at the Australian Cricket Academy in Adelaide.
International Career of Thirunavukkarasu Kumaran
Thirunavukkarasu Kumaran got selected into the Indian national One Day International Cricket team after an exception haul of 10 wickets in an Irani Trophy match against Karnataka at Bangalore (Bengaluru) in the 1999 to 2000 domestic season.

Thirunavukkarasu Kumaran was picked for the Australian Cricket tour where he performed well in the first-class games prior to the first Test. However Ajit Agarkar was preferred over him to play in the series. Thirunavukkarasu Kumaran took this disappointment in his stride, but another one followed when he was one of the five players replaced for Carlton and United one-day series.
Indian Cricket League Career of Thirunavukkarasu Kumaran
Thirunavukkarasu Kumaran joined the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) during its beginning in the year 2007. He was one of the stand-out performers for the Chennai Superstars, an ICL Team.
In ICL, Thirunavukkarasu Kumaran took an astonishing 6 for 21 on debut, a league record and also has the best strike (12.69) in the 20 over tournament. However, Thirunavukkarasu Kumaran accepted the Board of Control for Cricket in India`s (BCCI) amnesty offer and quit the league in 2009, along with a host of other Indian players.
Thirunavukkarasu Kumaran currently lives in Austin, TX and has taken up the role of Assistant Coach to the US National Cricket Team. He also plays for regional teams such as Texas Tornadoes in DPL and Hill Country Cricket Association in CTCL.
