Siksha O Anusandhan University was declared as a deemed university on 17 July 2007.
It began in 1996 as the Institute of Technical Education & Research. Institutes providing instruction in Management, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Medical Science, Bio-technology, Dental Sciences, and Nursing were then established. They were organized and granted university status in 2007.
