Punam Yadav is an Indian weightlifter who won Bronze medal in the women`s 63 kilograms weight class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow, where the gold medal was won by Olauwatoyin Adesanmi of Nigeria. She won a gold medal at commonwealth games gold coast Australia 2018. She won many medals, shields and certificates in the different weightlifting championships.

Punam Yadav was born on 9th July 1995 at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Her father is a small-time farmer Kailash Yadav and mother is Urmila Yadav. She started her career in 2011. She has two brothers and four sisters.
Career of Punam Yadav
Punam Yadav won bronze medal in weightlifting at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Women`s 63 kilograms category. She won gold medal by lifting 222 kilograms: 100 kilograms in Snatch (weightlifting) and 122 in Clean and jerk in 2018 Commonwealth Games in women`s 69 kilograms allotment. Her lift at 2018 Commonwealth Games was a personal best of 222 kilograms (110 kilograms +122 kilograms) beating England"s Sarah Davies who finished with 217 kilograms and attempted a 128 kilograms lift in her final clean and jerk attempt.
