Prabjoth Singh

Prabhjot Singh is a recognized contemporary Indian hockey player, who represented the team at the Athens Olympics.

Prabjoth SinghPrabhjyoth Singh is a forward in the Indian Men`s Hockey team, who has given significant performances at all levels of the game. He represented India in the 2004 Athens Olympics, where the team finished 7th, and plays for the Indian Oil Corporation. He currently works as an officer at the Indian Oil Corporation.

Early Life and Career of Prabjoth Singh
Prabhjot Singh was born on 14th August in the year 1980 in Masania, near Batala, Punjab. He was educated at the Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Batala, and finished his high school education from Talwandi Rama, in the Gurdaspur district. He is a product of the SAI Sports Development Training Centre, Patiala and the Air India Hockey Academy in New Delhi.

The field hockey forwarder made his international senior debut in the year 2001 for the Men`s National Team. He represented the county at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens, Greece. At the tournament India finished in seventh place.

His domestic career saw him perform with distinction: at the 2003 Beighton Cup he was adjudged `Man of the Final`, and was Top scorer at the Bombay Gold Cup. He was deemed the `Player of the Tournmanent` at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Tournament in 2003. Presently he is an officer in, and plays for, the Indian Oil Corporation. His international career has also been marked by several remarkable performances at the 2004 Athens Olympics (where India finished 7th) and the 2002 Asian Games, where India finished second. He has played for the foreign clubs like Indian Gymkhana based in London in the year 1999 and Barford Tigers in Birmingham in the year 2002.

Prabjoth`s consistent performances at various levels have established him as a dependable and often remarkable forwards hockey player, and a valuable asset to the Indian team.
