Narayana Medical College and Hospital was established by the eminent personality, Dr. P. Narayana, with a view to provide high-tech health care facilities to the people of Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. He has established both the Narayana Medical College and Narayana Medical Teaching Hospital and the medical institutions are likely to be upgraded to the Deemed University status, very soon. The institutions are considered among the rapidly developing medical institutes in the country and they offer diversified professional and job-oriented courses, to the students.
The principal objective of establishing the Narayana Medical College and Hospital (NMCH), Nellore was to lay a foundation and create advanced academic and research environment for medical and other health science professionals, in Andhra Pradesh. The institution is also aimed at creating manpower that would identify and deal effectively with problems that are generally faced during implanting a comprehensive health care. Apart from that, the institute is working hard to provide appropriate, relevant and up to date knowledge and skills not only at grass roots level but also advanced levels of research in Medical and Health Sciences, as well. The Narayana Medical Teaching Hospital is located within the Medical College Campus at Nellore and it has bed strength of 780 beds. The hospital also posses state of the art equipment and facilities for primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare.
The Narayana Medical College and Hospital (NMCH), Nellore has separate infrastructure for Administration, Casualty, Emergency & Critical Care Services, Outpatient and Inpatient services. A team of highly qualified and dedicated medical professionals of Narayana is managing the Narayana Hospital and Super Specaility. The team is managing the hospital with rich teaching, clinical and research experience in reputed medical colleges and hospitals in the country. There are residential complexes in the different campuses of Narayana Medical College and Hospital (NMCH), Nellore and the complexes are meant for the students and staff, teaching and non teaching staff. The Narayana Hospital and Narayana Super Speciality Hospital has been recognised by the Referral Hospital for State Government Employees and their families, the CM Relief Fund, the Child Cardiac Surgeries, the District Blind Control Society (NPCB), the RNTCP (DOT), the Universal Vaccine Programme, the Janani Sureksha and the Aarogyasri.
