Kumbhalgarh FestivalKumbhalgarh Festival is a renowned regional festival celebrated in the western-Indian state of Rajasthan during January, which witnesses bright musical evenings brought alive by live performances of reputed dancers and musicians, from all across the country. The tourism department of Rajasthan had launched this festive event in order to encourage the growth and development of the cultural heritage of Rajasthan. The local cultural traditions of this region are promoted through its manifold dance-forms and music displayed by some of the most well-known artists of India. The venue of Kumbhalgarh Festival is situated at an altitude of 1014 metres above mean sea level, on the summit of one of the highest peaks of Aravalli Hills.

During this festive occasion, the ancient fortress of Kumbhalgarh is decked up with innumerable lights, which imparts a unique appeal to the festival. This historical structure had been erected by Maharana Kumbha of the area of Mewar with a view to defend his territories from conquerors. One will notice that this fort is quite magnificent which is adorned with yellow light at night which emits a rare golden glow, and it seems the fort resembles a fairytale castle especially during the night. This old fortress is immensely large and therefore capable of accommodating a vast quantity of people within its premises. Due to this, innumerable tourists and travellers can witness this spectacular event.

Interesting activities like `mehendi` designing contests, turban tying and sporting of the longest moustache are the other exciting activities which are observed in Kumbhalgarh Festival.
