Khushbir Kaur won bronze medal in the 10000 meters race walk at 2012 Asian Junior Athletics Championships held at Colombo in Sri Lanka. This 20 years old Kushbir Kaur clocked 1 hour 34 minutes and 28 seconds to finish 39th in the 62-athlete field. There she cut down three minutes from her earlier national mark of 1 hour 37 minutes and 28 seconds which she created in Patiala (Punjab) in the year 2012.

Khusbir Kaur participated in the 2013 World Championships in the 20 kilometers walk category. She clocked 1 hour 34 minutes and 28 seconds and finished it in 39th. At the 2014 Asian walking championships in Japan, Khusbir Kaur came third with a timing of 1 hour 33 minutes and 37 seconds and bettered her own national record. Khusbir Kaur is supported by Anglian Medal-Hunt Company.

Khushbir Kaur is hailing from a small town in Amritsar, Punjab called Rasulpur Kalan. She has notched up junior national records in the 5 kilometres and 10 kilometres event. After a string of successful performances by Khusbir Kaur in the national junior circuit, she has performed well in the international circuit of race walk. There she finished second in the Youth Asian Games and third in the Junior Asian Games which was held in the year 2012. Khushbir Kaur had a strong 5th place performance in the senior walking Asian Championship in Japan.

Khushbir Kaur has recently bettered her own personal best and the national record in 20 kilometers walk during the Moscow World Championship, which was held in the year 2013. There she had a clocking time of 1 hour 34 minutes and 28 seconds. Khushbir finished 39th position during the event. Khusbir Kaur, this young aspirant race walker set a new national record, while Gurmeet Singh, another Indian athlete of national importance also impressed as the two finished third in the women"s and men"s sections respectively of the Asian 20 kilometers walking championship in Nomi, located in Japan. Gurmeet Singh clocked 1 hour 21 minutes and 30 seconds. While on the contrary, Khusbir Kaur ended up third in 1 hour 33 minutes and 37 seconds. This made her to set a new national record of 20 kilometres race walking in national and international hemisphere of 20 kilometre race walk.
