Karunya University is located in Coimbatore. The University was established in the year 1986 as Karunya Institute of Technology.

Karunya UniversityKarunya University was a private engineering college and affilated to Bharathiar University. In 2004 this college was given the status of deemed University by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. The University was founded by Dr. D. G. S. Dhinakaran. The University has been recognised by the University Grant Commission. The main objective of the University is to impart quality higher education in the field of science and technology and help the student to achieve the professional competency.

The University offers B.E courses in Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and B.Tech courses in Media Technology, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Bio-informatics, Food Processing and Engineering. The university Master degree in Mathematics, Physics ,Chemistry, Applied Electronics ,Computer Science ,Control and Instrumentation ,Engineering Design, Network and Internet Engineering, Power Electronic and Drives , Structural Engineering ,Thermal Engineering, Bio-Technology, Bio-Informatics ,Food Processing Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Application etc.
