Karunya University was a private engineering college and affilated to Bharathiar University. In 2004 this college was given the status of deemed University by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. The University was founded by Dr. D. G. S. Dhinakaran. The University has been recognised by the University Grant Commission.
