Abdomen Massage, AromatherapyMassage is extremely beneficial for the body and healing for the mind. Massaging the abdomen offers a dual action approach to supporting digestion. The abdomen is a critical cavity in the body housing many vital organs and the digestive system. Abdominal massage means the abdomen and intestinal areas are massaged with different motions and pressure which should be always comfortable, never painful. It has no adverse side effects. Since digestive problems can be the result of stress, relieving stress can encourage healthy intestinal function. Additionally, abdominal massages can help stimulate the muscles and organs required to produce a bowel movement. It also reduces the discomfort typically associated with constipation.

Abdominal Massage Procedure
The abdomen is a soft area protecting vital organs, so one should be very gentle on this area. When starting the abdominal massage, proceed slowly and gently. If there are some tender areas, lighten the pressure.

1.Fold a towel or blanket down to expose the area from just below the breasts to a couple of inches below the navel.
2.Apply oil, starting just under the rib cage, working down and out towards the waist. Be careful to keep the hands relaxed and contoured. Poking fingers feel very uncomfortable here.
3.With one hand on top of the other "iron" around the lower abdomen in large circles. Keep the pressure light and even.
4.Fan the hands out and work from the navel out to the waist. Slide the hands under the waist then gently pull them back round to the front again.
5. Stroke diagonally with alternate hands from the waist down to below the navel, first on the left side, then on the right.
6.Stroke down from the solar plexus to the navel, one hand behind the other, to finish off this area.
