Amit Panghal is an Indian amateur boxer who won silver in 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Australia in Light flyweight category.

Amit Panghal, Boxers in IndiaAmit Panghal is an Indian amateur boxer who won the bronze medal at the 2017 Asian Amateur Boxing Championships in the light flyweight category. He was born on 16th October 1995 in Mayna village of Rohtak district, Haryana. His father Vijender Singh is a farmer in his village and his elder brother Ajay works in the Indian Army.

Career of Amit Panghal
Amit Panghal won the gold medal in his debut match at the national championships in 2017. He won the bronze medal in the light flyweight category of the 2017 Asian Amateur Boxing Championships in Tashkent in May 2017 and qualified for the 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships. He was defeated in the quarterfinal by Olympic gold medalist Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan.

In February 2018, Panghal won the gold medal at the Strandzha Cup in Sofia. He was then named in India`s contingent for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He won silver in 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Australia in Light flyweight category. He works for the Indian Army as a junior commissioned officer (JCO).
