Established in 1984, the Al-Ameen Medical College has been working hard for improving the health scenario in Karnataka.

Al-Ameen Medical College, Bijapur, KarnatakaThe Al-Ameen Medical College is one of the premier medical institutions in the state of Karnataka, India. The college was established in 1984 and is located in the district of Bijapur. The institution is being managed by the Al-Ameen Charitable Fund Trust and has been working on achieving some certain aims and objectives. The college is working on developing the entire scenario of medical education in Karnataka by imparting medical education to the students. The college is also working on providing quality treatment to the people of the state.

The Al-Ameen Medical College (AAMC), Bijapur is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi Health University, Bangalore and Karnataka University, Dharwad. It has got the recognition from the Medical Council of India (MCI), Delhi. The college admits 100 students every year out of which 50% is admitted by the management. This 50% seats are reserved for only the students from Muslim community, according to the order of Supreme Court of India. The rest of the 50% students are admitted by the government of Karnataka and the seats are open for the students coming from any part of India.

The Al-Ameen Medical College (AAMC), Bijapur offers several courses in different branches of medical science and the courses are offered at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The college offers the postgraduate courses like MD in Medicine, Pathology, Physiology; MS in Anatomy; DMRD in Radiology; DGO in Gynaecology and Obstetrics; and D.O in Ophthalmology. The students are admitted through a written entrance examination and they have to appear for a viva test, as well.

After completing the written and viva tests, the administration of Al-Ameen Medical College (AAMC), Bijapur prepares a list by adding the marks of XII Std obtained in PCB and the marks of the written test and the marks of the viva. The students are admitted according to this list. Apart from offering the courses, there is also a hospital named the Al-Ameen Medical College Hospital, within the college premises. The main hospital consisting 500 beds was commissioned on 29th January 1999, along with the existing hospital of 300 beds with all amenities.
