Aksa Beach, situated near Mumbai in the Indian state Maharashtra, is a popular tourist destination endowed with tranquil environs. It lies in Aksa village, located at Malad which is a suburb of Mumbai, near to Malvani and serves as a cherished spot for enjoying vacation. The beach is quite deserted with silence hovering around and picturesque natural beauty encases it. Being one of the least visited beaches, Aksa Beach still retains its untamed beauty.
Aksa Beach is reputed for being very neat and clean. Visitors can spot a huge variety of snails and shells. Youngsters completely adore this lovely weekend destination. It also has a base of the Indian Navy titled INS Hamla at one of its end. It shares its other end with a small beach named Dana Paani. The pleasant sea breeze, resplendent evening climate and dazzling sunset at the beach make it a wonderful tourist destination worth exploring. The feel of village environment near the beach is also alluring and makes it a great escape from the hustles and pollution of city. Coconut trees dot the beach and provide soothing shades from the sun.
Aksa Beach is also an ideal spot for people who love green patches which surround the beach in the village terrains. There are also a number of fishermen with small beautiful huts near the beach. The sandy expanse of the beach forms a charming topography. Aksa Beach is also a paradise for nature photographers. Apart from captivating the tourists, the beach has over years also allured many Bollywood filmmakers for the spectacular vista it offers. Aksa Beach is not safe for swimmers owing to the strong currents. The waves of the sea also shift the sands of the beach making it unstable which is often misjudged by the people. The beach in fact also houses warning signs of swimming prohibition and lifeguards keep a check over the beach, especially during evenings when the beach becomes quite unsafe. The sea water at Aksa Beach has rapidly changing tides and beach has a rocky terrain. However special caution must be taken during monsoon due to increased risks during this season.
Visiting Information
A number of hotels and private cottages stand on the beach for providing comfortable accommodation to the visitors. The beach can be easily accessed by roadways and busses or private transports can be availed from Malad. It is located at a distance of 12 kilometres from Borivali railway station and 9 kilometres from Malad station. It is 27 kilometres away from Mumbai city.
