Aavishkar Salvi, born on October 20, 1981, in Mumbai, is an Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. He has participated for the Clubs MCA President`s XI, Mumbai, the Mumbai team, and above all for Team India. Aavishkar Salvi`s style of bowling is very much akin to that of Glenn McGrath of Australia. This junior McGrath does possess the calibre, to play on pretty puzzling bounces from a specific length, apt for creating the best bouncers. His pattern of classy seam bowling, along the lines of the Aussie bowling sensation Glenn McGrath, ensured his entry into the national team.
Career of Aavishkar Salvi
Salvi`s ascension to prominence is well deserved. Within a short span of time, he has emerged as one of the leading bowling support of Mumbai. He made his ODI debut in the Bangladesh vs. India at Dhaka, on April 11, 2003. In his very first appearance, he has filched 2 wickets, by bowling for 7 over. 2003`s tour in the West Indies, gave him the optimum opportunity to unfold his latent potentials, to the fullest extent. Aavishkar Salvi hit the headlines with an impressive average and wicket-accumulation. In the four matches of the Twenty 20 league in 2006-07 that he played, this expert wicket-taker has acquired 4 wickets, on the whole.
