Located in the town of Murdeshwar in the state of Karnataka, the statue of Murdeshwara is near the ancient Murdeshwara Temple on the Murdeshwar Beach. The statue was built over a span of 2 years and stands tall at a height of 123 ft. The Shiva statue was financed by Dr. R.N. Shetty, a businessman and philanthropist at a cost of approximately 50 million rupees. The statue was built by Shivamogga’s Kashinath and several other sculptors and is designed in such a way that it appears to sparkle under the sunlight.
