Structure of Shergarh Fort The main entrance of the fort opens into two large covered ‘dalans’, which are supported by pillars. These two ‘dalans’ can accommodate almost 1000 persons. The palaces and buildings inside the fort campus are surrounded by two courtyards. The larger one is called ‘Bada Angana’ and the smaller one is ‘Chhota Angana’. The larger court is surrounded by a series of oblong rooms, galleries with covered stair and a set of ladies chambers in the middle of each side. Some of the door jambs are seen with elaborate carvings in geometrical designs. The roofs of the palaces are flat and they are supported on pillars and brackets. Visiting Information to Shergarh Fort Shergarh Fort is located at a distance of 32 km south-west from Sasaram. Sasaram Junction Railway Station and Sasaram Airport are the nearest to reach the fort.
