History of Bhudargad Fort
Bhudargad Fort was built in the 12th Century by the King Bhoj. The fort contains three temples that are Kedarling, Bahiroba and Jakhubai. This place was holy in the ancient days. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj also visited this fort in 1677 and restored this fort. Later, the Bhudargad Fort was captured by the Mughal dynasty.
Visiting Information of Bhudargad Fort
The Bhudargad Fort is about 50 km south of Kolhapur and 12 km from Gargoti, which can be reached by a private car or bus. The best season to visit this fort is from September to March.
