Indian Premier League 2018 was the 11th season of the Indian Premier League where Chennai Super Kings won. Indian Premier League (IPL) is being considered as the newest, and one of the biggest revolutions in Indian Cricket. IPL was being held from 7th April to 27th May that saw the comeback of the Chennai Super Kings and the Rajasthan Royals after serving the 2 years of delay for the involvement of their respective owners in the 2013 IPL betting case.
Background of Indian Premier League 2018
Indian Premier League 2018 season introduced the mid-season transfers. The transfer window is a short five-day transfer window valid only for uncapped players who have played not more than two matches at the halfway mark of the tournament. It was the first season of the IPL to use Umpire Decision Review System.
Eight teams were listed to play Indian Premier League in 2018. The tournament involves each team playing every other team twice in a home-and-away, double round-robin set-up. The team that wins the final match is crowned the Indian Premier League winner. The schedule for the tournament was published on 14th February 2018.

Venues of Indian Premier League 2018
As per the original schedule, all the teams except for Kings XI Punjab played their home games at their traditional home venues. The IPL matches in Chennai were threatened due to the Kaveri water dispute protests. Ten venues were selected to host the matches. The opening match and the final were played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Other venues of Indian Premier League 2018 were M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Holkar Cricket Stadium, Eden Gardens and Wankhede Stadium.

Sunil Narine from Kolkata Knight Riders received the TATA Nexon Super Striker of the Season. Rishabh Pant from Delhi Daredevils received the fbb Stylish Player of the Season. MS Dhoni from Chennai Super Kings received the Star Plus "Nayi Soch" Season Award. Sunil Narine from Kolkata Knight Riders received the Most Valuable Player award.
