![]() Early Life of Heena Sidhu Heena Sidhu was born on 29th August 1989 at Ludhiana, Punjab. Her father was a national sports shooter and her brother is also a shooter in the 10 metre air pistol event. Her uncle is a gunsmith and gun customizer. She was also conferred the Arjuna Award in 2014. Career of Heena Sidhu Heena Sidhu began shooting in 2006, participating in the national junior and senior teams. She won a silver medal at the ISSF World Cup in Beijing in 2009. She won the first place in the women's 10 metres air pistol event at the national championship in Kerala. She also won a silver medal in the Women's 10 metres air pistol team event at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China and also won a gold medal in the women's 10 metre air pistol at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. In the singles event, Sidhu won a silver medal. Heena Sidhu won the gold medal at the ISSF World Cup Finals in Munich, Germany in 2013. In the 2014 Indian National Shooting trials she won by 0.1 point. In 2016, she qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in the women's 10 metre air pistol and the 25 metres pistol events. She won gold medal in women's 10 metre air pistol event at the Commonwealth shooting championships in Brisbane in 2017. In 2018 Commonwealth Games, she won a silver medal in the women’s 10 metres air pistol event, and a Gold medal in the women’s 25 metre air pistol event. She broke the Commonwealth Games record of 38 in winning the gold medal. Personal Life of Heena Sidhu On 7th February 2013, Heena Sidhu married Ronak Pandit who is also a pistol shooter.
