An industrial city in the Sonitpur District of Assam is Dhekiajuli. This town is famous for its furniture industry in the northeast. Dhekiajuli is surrounded by Singri at a distance of 11km. in the north, Ulubari in the west, Misamari in the south Orang at a distance of 16 km.in the east. The town is well connected by road and railways with nearby towns and rest of the places in the state. Tezpur Airport and Majbat Railway Station are the nearest airport and railway station, which serve Dhekiajuli. It is located between 26.7° North latitude and 92.5° East longitude and at a height of 100 metres (328 feet) above mean sea level.
According to the 2001 census report, Dhekiajuli had a population of 19,743 inhabitants. Males constitute 53% of the population and females consist of 47% of the population. In Dhekiajuli, 10% of the population is less than six years of age. Dhekiajuli has an average literacy rate of 74%, which is higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 79% and the female literacy rate is 69%.
Orang National Park, popularly known as mini Kaziranga and Chariduar Reserve Forest are the nearby prime attractions of Dhekiajuli.
