Cheranmadevi is a panchayat town situated in the Tirunelveli district in the state of Tamil Nadu in India.
Demographically speaking, the town of Cheranmadevi has a population of 16,320 with 49% males, 51% females and 9% children less than 6 years of age. Out of the males, 83% are literate and out of the females, 71% are literate. The average literacy rate turns out to be 77%, which is quite higher than the national average of 59.5%. The town has an exclusive Chola period Ramasami temple which has a structure called ashtanga vimana (three shrines one over another).
