Madhumita Mohanta is an Indian Chef. She is the ‘Executive Chef’ at "Great Eastern Hotel" in Kolkata. Mohanta is one of the top women chefs in India today. She is the only female Executive Chef in a star hotel in Kolkata. There are very few women in Indian hospitality industry who have scaled to position of executive chef. She worked and lived abroad for over a decade and has cooked for distinguished personalities from sportspersons such as racing car driver Michael Schumacher to royalty.
Career of Madhumita Mohanta
Chef Madhumita Mohanta was appointed as the Executive Chef of “The Lalit Great Eastern”, Kolkata. Her experience in the culinary operations spans over 19 years. Trained in IAM, Institute of Hotel Management College, Kolkata; she has worked with hotels and as a personal chef of celebrities across the world. Having started her career as a Hotel Management Trainee at "The Park", Kolkata, Chef Mohanta has an enriching experience at "Ritz Carlton", "Sheraton", "Four Point" by Sheraton and The Claridges India, Singapore, Bahrain and Kuwait. In 2010, she was ‘Executive Sous Chef’ at "Claridges", Surajkund in Haryana.
Chef Mohanta has served the Italian soccer club. From being the personal cook for Michael Schumacher to serving steamed noodles and other pan-Asian delicacies to Queen Raina of Jordon, Chef Madhumita Mohanta has several laurels in her bag.
