![]() Early Life and Education of Dr. Praveen Chandra Dr. Praveen Chandra was born in 1963 in the city of Gorakhpur, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, to Dr. U. C. Verma. He completed his intermediate from Colvins Taluqadar College in Lucknow. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from King George's Medical College (KGMC), Lucknow in 1985 and later completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 1986 and Doctorate of Medicine (DM) in Cardiology in 1991, from the same place. He stays in Delhi. Professional Experience of Dr. Praveen Chandra Dr. Praveen Chandra is the Chairman of Interventional Cardiology at Medanta - The Medicity in Gurgaon, since January 2010. He has also served as the Director of Cardiac Cath Lab & Acute MI Services at Max Healthcare (from 2004 to 2010) and Consultant Cardiologist at Escorts Heart Institute and Research Center, New Delhi (from 1992 to 2004). He is a Fellow of Endovascular Intervention Society of India, Asia Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and American College of Cardiology. He is a Member of the Cardiology Society of India. His expertise lies in the field of Cardiology and the following areas: The range of medical procedures performed by Dr. Chandra in his career includes Coronary & Peripheral Angiography, Coronary Stenting, Peripheral Stenting and Abdominal Aortic Stenting. Dr. Chandra has been a distinguished faculty member in various international meetings and was the Organiser and Director of the AMI course held in New Delhi for the years 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010. He has published over 100 articles, reviews and abstracts in various national and international journals. Awards and Honours received by Dr. Praveen Chandra Apart from the professional affiliations, Dr. Praveen Chandra has been awarded the prestigious Recognition Award for Success and Achievement in the field of Angioplasty in India, in the year 1998. In January 2016, the Government of India bestowed the Padma Shri, the country’s fourth highest civilian honour upon Dr. Chandra, for excellence in the field of Medicine in Cardiology. |
