Tannirbhavi Beach is an exquisite beach of the south Indian state of Karnataka, situated in Dakshina Kannada district, near the city of Mangalore. The beach is located in a place called Panambur which is 10 km north of Mangalore. The rolling waves and the tranquil ambience of the beach make it an attractive tourist destination. The beach is quite secluded and is away from the hustles and bustles of crowded cities. Due to its less popularity, this beach is hardly visited by the tourists and is also very clean as compared to other popular beaches. The beach provides an undisturbed paradise adorned with natural beauty and devoid of any artificial intervention. The beach gives a peaceful tune of calmness of a river and waves of the sea. The scenic Tannirbhavi beach is also much loved by the photographers and nature lovers. The place is an apt destination for the tranquil naturalists who love secluded delight of nature and get relaxed at the serenity of the beach.
Naphta fired barge is located on other side of the beach which is 220 MW power plant set up. Being a deserted place, the beach has not yet reached the status of a Government recognized tourist place. However efforts to beautify the beach have been initiated. Tannirbhavi Beach is under the administration of Mangalore port trust.
