This 40 feet tall fort was constructed by the Siddhis in 15th Century to save the city from sea bandits. The Kolaba fort is located in a walking distance. Another attraction of the beach is the old epigraph dating back to 1012. It is mainly explored by the tourists who are interested in local literature and history.
People touring Akshi beach can also visit the Akshi village which is popular for fishing. The houses in Akshi village are interesting to observe. Most of the houses in Akshi village are constructed under the coconut trees. They look charming and attractive.
